Born in a kindergarten classroom.

SPARK Education was founded to spark literacy in every community. Our tools are built for the educators who carry that work forward.

How it started

The tools didn't exist. So we made them.

Laura, a kindergarten teacher in Cobb County, Georgia with structured literacy training in Orton-Gillingham methodology, noticed something year after year: the tools available for phonemic awareness instruction didn't match how the science said kids actually learn to read.

Flat, unconstrained manipulatives like Elkonin boxes left students confused about the physical difference between breaking a word apart and putting it back together. She sketched what a better tool might look like.

Khreston turned those sketches into engineered mechanical designs. The SPARK Box was born — and nothing like it existed anywhere else.

Kindergarten teacher based in the metro Atlanta area, with structured literacy training in Orton-Gillingham methodology. SPARK's product concepts come directly from her classroom methodology and years of firsthand frustration with tools that didn't exist. Every product decision starts with the question she asks every day: what does this child need to feel the difference?

CAD designer and operations lead. Translates Laura's classroom concepts into engineered mechanical designs. Manages 3D-printed production, logistics, and sales outreach. Every component is precision-engineered to match the instructional intent behind it.
